Welcome Dessert Night

On Thursday evening, despite the threatening arrival of hurricane Irma, we had our WiM Welcome Dessert Night. We began by eating the many delicious cookies and cakes, strawberries and blueberries all dipped in the beautifully adorned chocolate fountain. Hello Sugar provided the chocolate fountain which made many chocolate loving women thrilled.

Following the time of dipping, Kate Lanier shared about the care team and introduced the members who were in attendance. Kate then opened the time together in prayer.

Next, Chrissy Boone had the ladies do a few fun icebreakers, which included making a map of the world according to where everyone was born.

Finally, Emily Allen shared a short devotional on the theme verse for the year 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”  Emily’s message was convicting, encouraging, well prepared, and a wonderful exhortation to each lady in attendance. Following the devotional time, the ladies broke into groups to pray with an emphasis on “not laboring in vain.”

Many thanks to each lady that made this evening such a memorable and enjoyable time together.
