On Wednesday, Orlando Health offered our student body on-campus “Stop the Bleed” training.
Several trained professionals led our students through a Bleeding Control Basic (BCon) course so that they might be better able to provide initial trauma care until EMS arrives. These courses have been in high demand in our area in the aftermath of the 2016 Pulse shootings.
We are very grateful for Katie Cheatham (MAC ’19) for organizing the event, which was very well-received (and well-attended) by students.
We plan on hosting another, larger event in the fall. Stay tuned!
